I'm a BIG fan of the drugstore, I love that there are so many brands which I personally think are rivalling those in the high end category but at a fraction of the price. So in today's post, I want to share with you my top tips for making use of the loyalty cards, offers and others which they may not tell you about!
Most people know that you can sign up for the Boots Advantage card for free instore or online. For every pound you spend at Boots, you collect 4 Advantage points and they can used to spend on more items. For example: I have collected 899 points, which converts to £8.99! Pretty nifty right? Another way you can save a bit of cash is to download their app and connect your points card. This way, you are able to see all of the best offers which are available at Boots AND you can see offers which are tailored to you. You are able to redeem offers which are best suited for you. For example, I've currently got some offers tailored towards deodorant and food (their meal deals are amazing!) I haven't really seen much information around about the app, so I definitely think that they are trying to keep that from us so we spend more money ;D So, if you haven't got an Advantage card or the app, I would seriously recommend getting it if you are wanting to scrimp and save.

My recent favourite is from The Body Shop. If you didn't know, The Body Shop have a loyalty scheme called "Love your body." For a fiver a year (sometimes free during some periods of the year), where you can enjoy a free gift on your birthday, heavy discounts and a boat load of offers. I've recently just signed up to to their newsletter where I indulged in 30% after spending at least £25 and also £23 worth of free gifts. In the end, I spent £26.50! I might do a mini Body Shop haul if anyone is interested in seeing all the stuff I got.

Now we're going to talk about a shop which I don't really exploit as much, however I am going to talk about it nonetheless. So at Superdrug, for every £1 you spend, you get 1 point.. which in comparison to to Boots isn't that great. However, I do like a lot of the brands that they sell at Superdrug (especially Makeup Revolution and MUA), plus they do seem to sell a lot more cruelty free products. You can pick up two types of cards from Superdrug, the "beauty" card and the "health" card in which you are able to get various members offers on (which can be found here.) Superdrug also offer a god offer on "click and collect" where if you spend over £25 online before 6pm, you can pick it up in your chosen store by 1pm the next day! I like to make use of these offers quite often, usually because my local Superdrug(s) don't stock the items I want so I can order them in and don't have to wait what feels like an absolute age for it to come in the post!
If you're a blogger like me and are after getting products to test and review, then I would definitely recommend some of these tips. I would also recommend making a spreadsheet of the amount you are spending and set a budget to control your expenditures. This way, you're not overspending and are more in control of your entire budget.
I hope you like these tips on saving some money, I am so glad that I discovered these different tips so that I can share them with you all, since the shops sometimes are abit sneaky and don't tell you some things! It certainly has saved me a lot of money :-) Tomorrows post is going to be a "Top 10 under £10" post so I hope you look forward to that.

  1. WOW, thanks for sharing the tips. I never knew so many advantages of having a loyalty card. R

  2. I love Savers and eBay for getting a beauty bargain. I used to love my Boots card but they don't pay their fair share of taxes and reap the benefits of huge NHS contracts so I don't shop there anymore.

    1. I never really think to check eBay! But I do love looking in Savers, our one usually have offers on Maybelline :) I didn't know that about Boots though, thank you for letting me know xx

  3. I love my Boots cards but I've recently rediscovered Superdrug (for their bargains more than their loyalty card) and I love their own brand skincare ranges.
    Great tips :)
