Today I am going to talk to you about the reasons why I love blogging. I have been blogging for over a year and a half now (my baby will be two in December, eek!!) and I absolutely love blogging. (Even though I have taken a huge break recently... oops, sorry!!)
Community, Collaborations and Chats
The blogging community is amazing. Everyone is so supportive of each other and helps each other out in any way they can. I've made some amazing friends through blogging. Alongside the community, there are the brands. A lot of brands are hopping on the blogging/PR train these days and are working with many bloggers and collaborating on many amazing projects. Finally there are the chats. These blogger chats take place on Twitter (check out Olivia's twitter chat schedule here) and there is something for everyone. You can take part in as many as you like and as often as you want. For example, I usually take parts in no chats or all of the chats I possibly can at the same time (with the help of my good friend Tweetdeck.)
Writing, Photography and Design
I've never really been a pro with my writing and have accepted that I never will be a eloquent writer but I can definitely see an improvement! I'm not entirely sure whether this is due to reading a large number blogs or if it is from actually having to think about my sentence structure while writing blog posts. I've also fallen back in love with photography again because for a while I went off of it. My love for photography is back and is even stronger than ever. Some of my favourite things to photograph are; flowers, buildings, animals and makeup! Finally is design. As an creative (but not arty) person, I love designing things and coming up with new ideas and concepts for my blog. I feel that with these three things, I can finally express myself in a way that I felt that perhaps couldn't before.
Health, State of Mind and the Future
I actually started this blog as I was in the midst of depression and needed something to concentrate on. I find that when I am down, in pain, tired or whatever is going on with me that day, I can sink myself into my blog and forget about things for a while. Since I started my blog, I now feel that I have a purpose in life as before I felt lost. Lost in the sense of that I didn't really know where I was going in life, not sticking to anything (like seriously, I'm so indecisive) and I just felt like I was hopelessly floating through life but not really progressing in anything. However, I have now landed on a Fashion Enterprise/Marketing course at university which I am loving (I know some of my class mates/lecturers read here - so hey!!) and I now have some sort of direction in my life.
Whoa that got kinda deep real quick. Anyways, I hope that you have enjoyed my post and let me know in the comments below what your reasons for loving blogging are!

  2. This is such a lovely post! I really appreciate why you started your blog because I've dealt with similar problems in the past. I actually was forced to start my blog as a university project my senior year and the professor said we had to write 10 posts about one topic so that's how mine started. You run a lovely blog - keep it up! xx, adaatude.com
